Murder Suspect Detained by Crime Resolution Unit

On December 19, the Sedalia Police Department took into custody an Illinois murder suspect.

In the 1300 block of North Missouri Avenue, detectives from the Crime Resolution Unit executed an arrest warrant. Illinois issued the warrant for the first-degree murder charge.

Without incident, detectives made contact and took the subject into custody. Malik Davis, 23, was wanted concerning a murder that occurred in Elgin, Illinois. After being detained, he was sent to the Pettis County Jail, where he is currently awaiting extradition.

The Pettis County Prosecutor’s Office received an additional state charge of Fugitive From Justice.
