Murder-Suicide Investigation Launched by Police in Upper Marlboro

Police in Prince George’s County are looking into what they believe to be a murder-suicide. The incident involves a child as well.

Officers were called to perform a welfare check at the 1200 block of Mercantile Lane in Upper Marlboro on Sunday around 1:00 p.m.

Police discovered a male adult and a child in a car when they arrived. Both the male and the child had gunshot wounds. Both of them were declared dead at the scene.

The car was parked in the Kaiser Permanente Largo Medical Centre garage. The police have not disclosed any further information regarding the incident.

The authorities have assured the police that the incident is a domestic one and there is no public threat. Police have opened an investigation.

The authorities urge the people to come forward to the police if they have any information.
