Multiple Suspects Arrested, Significant Amount Of Drugs Confiscated By Police In San Fernando Valley
Authorities announced on Wednesday that a significant bust resulted in the arrest and indictment of seven individuals believed to be part of a drug trafficking ring in the San Fernando Valley.
Several individuals have been apprehended following an extensive three-year investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
A significant amount of narcotics, a large number of firearms, and a substantial sum of cash were confiscated in multiple locations throughout the San Fernando Valley. According to the ATF, authorities confiscated a significant amount of narcotics, including methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl powder.
According to court documents, Buraye, Melendez, and Meraz Jr. were the leaders of the trafficking operation, responsible for acquiring fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, and cocaine.
The trio, in collaboration with Kyurkchian, would supply the drugs to Lavilette and Bentancourt, who would subsequently distribute the drugs in the streets. According to officials, Buraye and Melendez were involved in the sale of drugs to customers, while Armas was responsible for storing the narcotics.
Kyurkchian managed to evade capture while his suspected partners in crime were apprehended. However, authorities eventually located and arrested him on Thursday evening.
All individuals involved have been charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances with the intent to distribute.
