Multiple Suspects Arrested After Massive Drug Bust in Pickens County

As part of a year-long, multi-jurisdictional narcotics investigation, the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office discovered over 85 pounds of methamphetamine in a storage facility in Pickens County, South Carolina.

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Greenville County Drug Enforcement Unit (GCDEU) investigated the previous year.

Deputies claimed to have seen one of the investigation’s suspects visiting a storage facility in the Pickens region while conducting surveillance. Authorities stated that the suspect was discovered to be in possession of about 22 pounds of methamphetamine when he was detained later that day.

Based on previous surveillance footage and a positive alert by K9 Rico on the storage unit, the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office announced that it had secured a search warrant for the property after the arrest.

Agents reported that they discovered about 88 pounds of methamphetamine inside the storage container during the search.

The Sherrif Department arrested Makayla Mae Briggs, John Mark Brooks, William Blake Buchanan, Joseph Eugene Jones, Wilton Larry Kirby, Melissa Ann Morris, Krista Lea Perry, Anthony John Sharbo, Joshua Larry Kirby and Kimberlee Willard.

The authorities have not shared further information about the arrested individuals.
