MSNBC Corrects Report Accusing FBI Head Kash Patel of Clubbing More Than Working

An odd claim made last week about FBI Director Kash Patel had to be taken back by MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Monday.

An ex-assistant director at the FBI named Frank Figliuzzi shared the claim that Patel had been seen out partying more often than working at the office on Friday’s morning talk show.

Figliuzzi told Jonathan Lemire, co-host of ‘Morning Joe’, ‘He’s been seen at bars a lot more than he has been on the seventh floor of the Hoover building’. “And there are reports that daily briefings to him have been changed from every day to maybe twice-weekly.”

Eric Adams, the mayor of New York City, says the Deep State is “real” and says Kash Patel’s book helped him understand it.

Someone Figliuzzi talks to at MSNBC who works as a national security and intelligence expert told him that the FBI was in a state of “chaos.”

“People don’t know what’s happening from day-to-day,” he said.

The comments Figliuzzi made last week were covered by a number of news sources. Lemire took a moment on Monday’s show to take back what he said.

“Frank Figliuzzi was on that hour talking about the work of administration officials,” Lemire began, referring to “Morning Joe” on Friday.

“Finch said at the end of that segment that FBI Director Kash Patel has been seen more in nightclubs than at FBI offices. It was wrong to say that. Lemire said, “We have not checked that claim.”

Fox News Digital asked MSNBC for a response, but they didn’t get back to us right away.

Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll took over as acting head of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) from Patel last month. A person close to Patel told Fox News Digital that the job was taken away from him so that he could focus on his job as FBI director.
