MS-13 Gang Member got more than 2 Decades of Prison Term for killing a 14-year-old in Virginia
Fairfax County, VA: A member of the international street gang La Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) from El Salvador was given a 25-year prison sentence today for the 2016 kidnapping and murder of a teenage boy.
Alexandria resident Edwin Orellana Caballero got the harshest sentence possible: 25 years in jail for his part in the murder of a 14-year-old in 2016.
On September 26, 2016, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said that Caballero, who was 16 at the time of the killing, worked with other MS-13 members to lure a 14-year-old boy named S.A.A.T. to the Lincolnia area of Holmes Run Park.

A news report said, “The gang lured S.A.A.T. to Holmes Run Stream Valley Park in Fairfax County and killed him in the woods there with knives, machetes, and a pickaxe.” “Orellana Caballero hit S.A.A.T. several times with the pickaxe.” “Once S.A.A.T. was dead, the gang buried him lightly.”
In August, another teen was killed in the park, and seventeen people have been charged with their deaths. A jury found five men guilty of murder and kidnapping in July 2022. All of them will spend the rest of their lives in jail.

Orellana Caballero, who was moved for prosecution as an adult under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act, admitted to one count of maiming in aid of racketeering activity. By confessing, he acknowledged his involvement in S.A.A.T.’s killing to advance within MS-13.
So far, 17 defendants have been charged in this case. Out of those, five individuals stood trial and were found guilty of all accusations. Ten individuals admitted guilt before the trial began.
