Tragedy struck when Latasha Cureton, a 39-year-old woman, lost her life in a drive-by shooting. The incident took place in Gastonia, N.C., as an unidentified attacker fired multiple bullets at her home while she was asleep.
Shockingly, her children were present, watching a movie with their grandmother at the time. The incident happened on Monday.

Cureton’s son discovered her in the front bedroom after she let out a cry of “I’m hit,” according to the victim’s sister.
The family has released images of a door that has been damaged by bullets, which can be seen in various media outlets. One of the photos captures a bullet hole in a light switch.
