Police say that emergency personnel transported the woman to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. A description of the victim placed her in her fifties. The woman was identified by the medical office and her family was informed of the tragic incident.

The family member called the incident a “tragedy for the immigrant community of Los Angeles” and “for all that rely on the Metro to get home safe.”

A male was apprehended at the Ventura/Vineland bus station at approximately 5:30 a.m., a short distance from the location of the assault as per KTLA.
