Mother Killed by Son in Front of Family: Community in Shock and Family Reeling with Grief

According to the authorities, a mother was fatally shot four times in the head by her own son, who then killed her in front of her husband and younger son. According to authorities, Tatanisha Jackson was walking inside the family house in South Shore, Chicago on Saturday afternoon when her younger brother and dad were shot and killed by 17-year-old Davion Pryer.

The investigation revealed that Davion, who had just retrieved his younger brother from his dad’s car, had contacted his mother ten minutes earlier, asserting that they were the targets of intoxicated individuals on their rear porch. Shots rang out at point-blank range as Jackson ajar her front door.

Davion was apprehended by law enforcement in the 7000 block of South Cottage Grove before to 10 p.m. on the same day. As an adult, he will face charges of first-degree murder in his trial.

Both the community and the courtroom were shaken by the crime. Judge David Kelly, who referred to the act as a tragedy, took a few moments to collect himself as he presided over the proceedings, clearly struggling to conceal his emotions.

The parents had just picked up Pryor’s 7-year-old brother and father from school when the mother was shot; they were centimeters away. As the father heard additional gunshots, detectives say he quickly gathered up the child and dialed 911.

When the police finally came, they discovered Jackson’s body covered in gunshot wounds all around. They went on to say that twelve spent shells and a gun were discovered there. My mother passed away after being sent to the University of Chicago Medical Center.

After Jackson passed away, her husband, two boys, and an older stepdaughter were all left behind. Pryor will remain in detention per Judge Kelly’s ruling, who stated that the attack was unwarranted and without justification. On Friday, September 28, the juvenile suspect is scheduled to make his court appearance.

Authorities claim that Pryor is currently facing charges in juvenile court for two offenses: vehicular hijacking and aggravated violence. He had an October 3 court appearance scheduled and was under house confinement when the shooting occurred.
