Missouri Woman Pushed Man Out from Speeding Car; Victim Dead from Severe Injuries after Hitting Road at such High-Speed
A woman in Ozark County is facing charges following a tragic incident where a man lost his life after being ejected from a vehicle.
A 50-year-old woman named Lori Shannon Collins is facing serious charges including second-degree murder, first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, as stated in court records.
Based on court documents, authorities received a report on June 12 regarding an incident involving a man who was struck by a vehicle. The incident occurred six miles west of Gainesville on State Highway 160 near Locust Road.
Upon arrival, investigators discovered Mark Ault lying on the ground.
Based on court documents, witnesses reported seeing Ault gripping onto the side of a car as Collins was behind the wheel. Confirmation has been received regarding the ownership of the car by Ault.
According to witnesses, Collins was observed abruptly braking and accelerating while Ault was clinging to the side. Witnesses observed Collins leaving the scene.
Ault passed away at the scene as per KY3 News.
Collins is currently being held in the Ozark County Jail and is expected to make a court appearance on July 3.
