Michigan Couple Arrested after Brutal Child and Sexual Abuse at Daycare Facility after Authorities Received Tip from Indiana
A husband and wife have been arrested by deputies from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office and are now facing multiple charges as a result of the investigation
An incident of alleged sexual misconduct occurred at a daycare facility in Gobles. According to officials, the investigation began when they received information about criminal activity from LaGrange, Indiana.
“When you put your babies in the care of somebody, you expect them to take care of them the way you would take care of them yourself,” a grandmother of two children attending Little Cubs Daycare who chose to remain anonymous said.
Authorities are urging individuals to carefully examine the images of this pair, Jesse Stone, 46, and Stephanie Stone, 38, who are married.
Officials are currently investigating potential abuse or neglect allegations at the couple’s nursery, Little Cubs Daycare, as reported by Charon. It’s also the place where the couple resided.
“They were arraigned today on abuse charges and sexual assault charges,” Van Buren County Sheriff’s Captain James Charon said.
“There were a couple times last year when she really didn’t want to go to daycare. Looking back I wonder if that had anything to do with it,” the anonymous grandmother said.
The daycare has temporarily closed its doors, as indicated by a handwritten note attached to the door stating that it will remain closed until further notice
Both children insist that no inappropriate touching occurred. On the other hand, the older child claims that Stephanie, one of the two individuals in custody, has a tendency to be unkind.
A child remembered a moment when they rushed to assist a younger child who was trying to consume a bottle of diaper rash cream that had been left unattended.
Jesse Stone is currently being held by Van Buren County. As per court documents, he is confronted with a total of 13 charges. They are:
- Two counts first degree criminal sex conduct
- Two counts second degree criminal sex conduct
- Two counts second degree child abuse
- Four counts felony firearms
- Two counts third degree child abuse
- One count domestic violence
Stephanie Stone is facing charges of child abuse, as stated in court records. She was ordered to pay a bond of $100,000 in cash or surety as reported by WWMT News.
