Mexican Drug trafficking ring Busted in Valley; More than dozen arrested in Tulare County
Tulare County, CA: After months of investigation, authorities in the Central Valley believe they have busted a narcotics cell and detained nearly 90 individuals.
After nine months of investigation, search warrants were served early Thursday morning on homes by 21 separate teams of federal, state, and local investigators.
‘Operation SLO Ride,’ so called because the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office provided the initial information, has resulted in 28 individuals facing federal charges; nevertheless, they were far from the only ones.
Over twenty firearms, a bulletproof vest, three kilograms of cocaine, and over 200 pounds of meth were confiscated on Thursday morning alone.

Mike Boudreaux, sheriff of Tulare County, expressed his belief that this effort had made communities safer.
This drug running cell was totally and utterly decimated by this inquiry. Although cartels in the Central Valley were not entirely eradicated, this particular cell was dissolved.
The Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel was reported by the sheriff to have direct ties to the unit.
The investigation started in July 2023 and has resulted in over 85 arrests, the seizure of about 1,000 pounds of meth, 64,000 fentanyl tablets, hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, and over 80 weapons, according to the sheriff.
Secret sources and phone tapping were part of the probe.
We learned a great deal about the organization’s extent from the intelligence we collected. It was crystal clear to us who was in charge, how much narcotics were being transported, and where they were going, according to DEA Special Agent Brian Clark.
In its nationwide fight against drug activities, the operation is a component of the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Program.

You may be sure that the DEA will not hesitate to pursue you. In order to safeguard the well-being and security of our communities, we will vigorously pursue your group from every angle,” Clark declared.
The huge drug trafficking bust is personal for Boudreaux.
“Our children’s lives are in jeopardy,” Boudreaux exclaimed.
Action News broke the story on Tuesday about the two-year-old boy from South Valley whose father was arrested after being found exposed to fentanyl at their house last week.
According to the authorities, the father confessed to having the poison on hand. The execution-style killings of six family members in January 2023 continue to impact the Goshen neighborhood.
The bodies of the victims, who included a mother and her 10-month-old infant, were thought to have been cartel victims.
