Fort Worth, Texas: American Airlines is making changes to its customer service team in North Texas, resulting in the elimination of over 320 positions.
The airline based in Fort Worth announced a reorganization that aims to enhance support for travelers in the future.
An additional 335 workers in Phoenix will also be affected by the reconfiguration. The newspaper article mentioned that the Customer Success team will now consist of 135 employees.
The airline announced that the affected employees, who were not part of a union, have the opportunity to apply for over 800 available job openings within the company. This includes positions on the reconfigured Customer Success team.
American Airlines has announced that it will provide severance payments to employees who are unable to secure employment within the company or are eligible for retirement. American has stated that they are willing to offer outplacement support to employees who are interested in exploring job opportunities beyond the company.
The airline has confirmed that customer team members will continue to work and receive their pay until March 30.
