Man Wanted for Child Solicitation Arrested after Hours-Long SWAT Standoff in Centreville, Virginia
A man who was wanted for asking a child to perform sexual acts on him was finally caught after a four-hour barricade.
Around 9:55 p.m. yesterday, our SWAT team tried to carry out search and arrest warrants in the 13800 block of Fount Beattie Court in Centreville. Detectives from our Child Exploitation Unit got word that the suspect had been asking an eleven-year-old child to do sexual things with him.
At first, police tried to get the suspect, 35-year-old Centreville resident Cody Christopher Fynn, to leave the house, but he wouldn’t. Officers learned that Flynn might have had a gun on him. When Flynn kept refusing to do what the officers told him to do, more help from the FCPD’s Special Operations Division, Crisis Negotiations Team, and Crisis Response Team arrived to help with the roadblock as reported by Patch.
After four hours of talks, police were finally able to safely arrest Flynn around 2:00 a.m. Flynn said he was having health problems and was taken to a nearby hospital. He was treated and soon released.
He was arrested and charged with two counts of Solicitation of a Minor, conspiring to commit aggravated sexual battery, and making child pornography. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He doesn’t have a bond.
