Man Uploaded Child Porn in Chat Room; Sent to Jail after Pedo Lives Matter Group Chat Leak in Texas

A 35-year-old Spring resident has been convicted of distributing, receiving, and possessing child sexual abuse material, according to U.S. Attorney Alamdar S. Hamdani.
Oscar Barrios entered a guilty plea on November 30, 2023.
Barrios has been sentenced by U.S. District Judge Alfred Bennett to 144 months for the distribution and receipt of child pornography counts and 120 months for the possession of child pornography count, respectively. The sentences will be served at the same time, resulting in a combined 12-year prison term. The court emphasized that Barrios, as a father with minor children in the household, breached the trust placed in him.
Barrios has been ordered to pay $20,500 in restitution to the victims. Additionally, he will serve five years on supervised release after completing his prison term. Throughout that period, he will be obligated to adhere to a multitude of regulations aimed at limiting his contact with minors and online platforms. Barrios will also be required to register as a sex offender.
Barrios was involved in the distribution and receipt of child pornography through various messaging applications like Kik and Discord. He was involved in online chatrooms, including one with a disturbing name, where members were found to be sharing illegal and harmful content. Barrios made disturbing statements in these chatrooms expressing inappropriate interest in a young female relative.
Law enforcement discovered 66 videos and one image of child pornography during a search of the suspect’s electronic devices as per Click2Houston News.
Barrios will continue to be held in custody until being transferred to a facility of the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, which will be determined soon.
The FBI conducted the investigation with the help of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
