Miami Standard (Harris County, TX) – A Texas man, reportedly spotted fleeing the scene of a car accident that left his wife and four children injured, has been arrested again — marking his second arrest in just two months.
A criminal complaint reveals that the assistant district attorney in Harris County has accused 40-year-old Terrance Carr of deliberately leaving his injured children behind following an SUV crash that resulted in the vehicle flipping into the bayou.
His wife and four children, ranging from 7 months to 8 years old, were also hurt in the accident. Witnesses at the crash scene reported seeing Carr, with one woman recalling that she heard him exclaim, “Get my kids” and “I gotta get outta here” before he ran away on foot.
A different observer present at the location informed authorities that she also spotted Carr and heard him exclaim, “I’m running” and “I’m wanted.” She further informed the authorities that Carr had an odour of alcohol and drugs.

Court documents and the criminal complaint reveal that Carr was released on bail following a February 13 arrest for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger and unlawfully possessing a firearm as a felon.
The criminal complaint revealed that Carr’s wife informed the police at the hospital that she was behind the wheel of the family’s Ford Expedition. She received medical attention for a fractured arm and additional facial injuries that resulted in her showing “signs of confusion.” Authorities concluded that she was unable to assist her four children following the accident because of her own injuries.
Two children, aged 3 and 8, underwent surgery due to a collapsed lung and abdominal injuries, respectively. The complaint did not specify the conditions of the 7-month-old and 4-year-old children; however, local CBS affiliate KHOU indicated that two of the victims were said to be in serious condition, while the other three were in critical condition. It was also reported that the 8-year-old was ejected from the vehicle. Everyone is anticipated to make it through.
The report indicated that Carr reportedly operated the identical Ford Expedition with the same group of children in the vehicle during his DWI arrest in February.
According to KHOU, Houston Police Captain Ryan Watson reported that investigators observed a Ford Expedition on surveillance footage potentially travelling at speeds reaching 100 mph in a 45 mph zone.
Carr faces charges for leaving a child in a perilous situation and was taken into custody on March 27. He remains in custody at Harris County Jail with no option for bail. He is set to appear in court again on April 3.
