Man fatally Shot in Phoenix by Suspect who Escaped on Bicycle: Police

Phoenix, AZ: A man was tragically killed in a shooting incident in the West Valley on Sunday night, as reported by Phoenix police.

William Ray White, 40, was found by officers with at least one gunshot wound shortly after 10 p.m. In a news release on Friday, Sgt. Rob Scherer of the Phoenix Police Department reported that an incident occurred on Sunday near 47th Avenue and Brill Street.

Officers arrived at the scene in response to reports of an injury, according to Scherer.

White was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries, despite the efforts of fire personnel to perform lifesaving measures, as reported by the police.

Authorities have stated that a man, who is suspected of being responsible for the shooting and the tragic death of White, was caught on surveillance footage leaving the area on a white bicycle. The person was last seen near 48th Avenue and McDowell Road.

According to Scherer, detectives are currently conducting an investigation into the shooting. He urged individuals with any relevant information to contact Silent Witness at 480 (WITNESS) or 480 (TESTIGO) for Spanish speakers, in order to provide an anonymous tip.

Scherer mentioned that cash rewards were being offered to individuals who could provide information leading to an arrest in the case.
