Man Convicted for Series of Auto and Residential Burglaries in San Francisco: DA Office

San Francisco, CA- A recent update from the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office reveals that Darvin Ramirez-Perez, 38, has been convicted of a series of auto and residential burglaries by a jury.

Brooke Jenkins, the District Attorney, announced the conviction of an individual who has been found guilty of multiple charges, including residential burglary and attempted burglary.

The individual’s criminal activities spanned almost two years, showcasing a prolonged spree of illegal behavior. “The jury’s verdict holds Mr. Ramirez-Perez responsible for his numerous crimes and guarantees that he will face the necessary consequences,” Jenkins stated, according to the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.

The evidence presented during the trial outlines a series of burglaries that started in March 2021. These incidents varied from smashing vehicle windows to bold residential break-ins while occupants were present. As per the DA’s Office, Ramirez-Perez was apprehended in Union Square after swiftly breaking into a Ford F-150 and taking a suitcase.

In February 2023, the situation took a turn for the worse as Ramirez-Perez resorted to using a crowbar to break into a home in Lower Pacific Heights. This terrifying incident left a resident and her infant frightened, but thankfully the police were able to apprehend Ramirez-Perez just a block away.

The case was effectively resolved by Assistant District Attorney Edward Mario, who acknowledged the emotional toll the defendant’s actions had on the victims. “Home invasions can have a profound impact on victims, even if they don’t suffer physical harm,” Mario emphasized, according to the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.

Ramirez-Perez is currently in custody and is scheduled to be sentenced on August 19. The convictions highlight the successful teamwork between the prosecutor’s office, the SFPD Burglary Unit, DNA Crime Lab, and support staff.

The District Attorney and Assistant District Attorney commend all involved for their crucial contributions in achieving this result.
