Man Arrested for Alleged Violent Threats Against Former President on Facebook

(Miamistandard) Fla. (Gray News) – A man in Florida was arrested for reportedly making threats of violence against President Trump.

West Palm Beach Police say that the FBI got a tip from a guy who reported that 46-year-old Shannon Depararro Atkins posted violent messages about the president on social media.

Police stated that they started investigating the reports on January 20, which resulted in the arrest of Atkins on January 24, according to WPLG.

The police force said that two posts were shared on Facebook.

One post was a re-post of a message that read, “Jan 20th is the Day of Mourning for USA.” Atkins wrote in his repost, “I need bullets, please.” Please, Jesus! “Protect America.”

Another post said, “I’ve been banned from ‘X’ because I wished that someone would kill him.” History is meant to repeat itself. “We haven’t had an assassination in a long time.”

The cops say Atkins reportedly confessed to writing the posts.

He was caught and accused of making threats to kill, harm others, or carry out a mass shooting or act of terrorism, as well as having cocaine.
