Man Arrested at Traffic Stop in California after K9   Detected Narcotics in Possession: Authorities

A man has been apprehended by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office following a traffic stop that yielded a significant quantity of narcotics.

The charges against 32-year-old Shawn Casey Thieman include dealing heroin, and methamphetamine (more than 100 grams but less than 200 grams), possession of a controlled substance, and production of a controlled substance.

Duane Lewis, the sheriff of Berkeley County, stated that a deputy was on patrol near the intersection of Azalea Square Boulevard and North Main Street when they observed a car lacking a tag light.

Thieman was apprehended when the deputy pulled over a vehicle and spoke with the driver and passenger.

Two individuals consented to a search of themselves by deputies, excluding the vehicle. The Summerville Police Department was then summoned to perform a “free air sniff” of the car using a K-9.

According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, a digital scale and a fanny pack containing Narcan were discovered during a search conducted under probable cause. Furthermore, in the trunk, they discovered a locked safe that had multiple plastic baggies with chemicals that had tested positive for Fentanyl.

According to Lewis’s statement in the release, the safe contained about 200 grams of methamphetamine and over 90 grams of marijuana. The thief asserted ownership of the safe and its contents.

According to the sheriff’s office, Thieman has a lengthy record of arrests in Berkeley County, with thirteen separate counts involving drugs, guns, and violence filed against him since 2012.
