Major Georgia-based Company Filed for Bankruptcy: Jobs on the Line as Company is Selling Stores across Florida
The Salt Life brand’s parent company, Delta Apparel Inc., recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and plans to try to sell off a number of stores in Florida.
According to WARN letters given to Florida regulators, if the beach-themed business owned by a Georgia-based corporation cannot find a suitable buyer by the end of August, over 100 employees at 16 outlets could be out of a job.

“Financial and business difficulties” are the stated reasons given by Delta Apparel in its notices regarding their intention to sell Salt Life. Citing falling demand and profit margins, the firm filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Delaware on June 30.
According to documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) by Delta Apparel, the auction for Salt Life will take place on or before August 20, according to the firm.
