Luxury Store Robbed in DC, Suspects at Large
A Chanel outlet in Washington, D.C. was the target of a robbery by five individuals, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Concerning the theft that happened on Sunday at around 5:30 p.m. in northwest DC, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that the department is looking for the robbers and their car. The robbery happened at a luxury store that is about a mile away from the White House.
The police department has released the video evidence of one of the robbers repeatedly shooting a fire extinguisher, striking an on-duty special police officer with its contents while the other masked robbers took items out of the store. After the heist, robbers fled in a car.
The local media said that the burglars had taken items valued at $250,000, despite the authorities not disclosing the exact value of the stolen goods.
One of the robbers was photographed by surveillance cameras with their car.
The Metropolitan Police Department has asked anyone with information about the thieves or the car to text their details to the department’s 50411 TEXT TIP LINE or call (202) 727-9099 to report them.
Anyone who gives information that results in the arrest and conviction of the offending individual or people will be eligible for a prize of up to $1,000.
