Loved Ones Seek Answers as Miami-Dade Police Investigate Transgender Woman’s Murder

2022-05-17, Opa Locka: On Saturday, the body of 50-year-old Nedra Sequence Morris was found in a pool of blood at the intersection of NW 32nd Avenue and NW 132nd Terrace in Opa-locka.

Miami-Dade Police has not disclosed any information and has remained extremely silent on this violent and vicious murder of Nedra, a transgender woman. 

Her family claims that after she was shot in the head early on Saturday morning, the body was dumped there from a moving car. A 2017 Jaguar F-PACE is being sought by the police.

More than a hundred people gathered at the intersection in her while they waited for details and clarification. 

Her cousin spoke to the crowd, “We pray, that God speaks to us, we don’t go out with a vengeance, that we know justice will be served.”

The Human Rights Campaign documented a record-breaking amount of violent fatal incidents against transgender individuals in the previous year. particularly transgender Black women.

Her aunt hoped there was no hate crime involved in the murder. She transitioned and was very confident about her identity.

Her social media postings indicate that she was truly caring and her community also acknowledged the fact.
