Lawsuit Against Gas Station by Family of 19-Year-Old Victim Who Died in Shooting in Atlanta
Atlanta, GA: The family of a 19-year-old bystander who was tragically killed in October intends to take legal action against the gas station where the incident occurred.
De’Asia Hart among four victims shot in suspected altercation leading to gunfire. A shooting occurred near a RaceTrac close to Georgia State University’s campus.
The family of Hart alleges that the Atlanta 911 call center failed to respond to multiple calls after the incident, leading friends to transport Hart to the hospital in their car. Hart’s family informed Channel 2 Action News that she is survived by a 1-year-old daughter.
An attorney representing the family intends to reveal a legal action against the RaceTrac location and other parties, such as the ownership of The Mix apartment complex, situated close to the gas station.

The complaint will claim that both RaceTrac and The Mix were negligent despite a history of violence in the area.
Another fatal shooting at a gas station claimed the life of a 21-year-old man this week.
Following the incident, the CEO of RaceTrac declared the permanent closure of the gas station.
