LAPD High-Speed Chase Yields Two Arrests; Driver Also Changed Vehicle During the Chase To Escape Arrest
Los Angeles, California: LAPD arrested two individuals after a high-speed police chase. The car involved in the chase had nearly collided with many vehicles on the road.
When cops noticed that the license plate on a stolen Dodge Challenger didn’t match the car, they attempted to approach the driver and get them to surrender the vehicle. The driver, who was driving at 50 to 60 mph on the road, traveled at high speeds while dodging traffic and refusing to submit to the authorities.
Because of the suspect’s reckless driving, LAPD officers put an end to the pursuit and placed the vehicle under surveillance mode, following it until it was safe to try to pull them over once more.
The driver continued to drive erratically, cutting off other drivers and nearly colliding with other cars on the road, even though there were no police following them.
The driver mostly went through Boyle Heights, South Gate, East LA, and South Los Angeles.
The driver got out of the car under a bridge and got into another one when they were driving through South LA.
Shortly after the changeover, officers discovered the second vehicle and demanded that it yield near the junction of Vernon Avenue and Hoover Street. Two persons turned themselves in there, and the police took both of the suspects into custody.
Later, the LAPD claimed that the person who started the chase was the passenger in the second car.
The detained people’s names and the charges they might be facing were kept under wraps by the authorities.
