Miami Standard (Kissimmee, FL) – A warehouse’s roof partially collapsed during a fire in Kissimmee on Saturday afternoon, according to a news release.
Officials say they responded to the incident on Michigan Avenue at 3:20 p.m.
According to the announcement, firefighters arrived to find substantial fire and smoke coming from the west side of the building.
“Due to the size and intensity of the fire, crews moved into a defensive operation, and a second alarm was called,” according to the press release.
According to officials, a portion of the warehouse’s roof fell due to the fire.
According to the notification, workers were able to put the fire under control and completely extinguish it.
There were no reported casualties to firefighters or civilians, officials added.
Fire officials further noted, “During the course of the incident, we were not made aware of any toxic or hazardous materials.” As a precaution, we promptly alerted the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.”
