Kidnapped Victim Mouthed Help Me to Officers at Traffic Stop in Las Vegas, Police Arrest Kidnapper after Short Chase
Las Vegas, NV: An individual in Nevada, aged 28, was taken into custody for reportedly abducting his partner and making threats against her life. The woman was saved after discreetly signaling for help while passing by police officers during a traffic stop.
Last week, Nathaniel Foutch-Pratt was arrested and charged with first-degree kidnapping, attempted murder, and domestic battery by strangulation, according to court records.
Foutch-Pratt and his unidentified girlfriend were on a road trip from Illinois to California earlier this month when the situation escalated, as per a probable cause affidavit obtained by Las Vegas NBC affiliate KSNV.
According to the affidavit, two officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department came across Foutch-Pratt and the victim around 9:10 p.m. on Feb. 20 during a traffic stop near Pecos Road and Washington Avenue. While making a stop, an officer reportedly spotted Foutch-Pratt driving by in an SUV at a high speed. The officer also observed a woman in the passenger seat engaging in concerning behavior.

It was evident that the driver had prior knowledge of the incident as he entered the southbound side of U.S. 95 traveling north, prompting the police to give chase. Shortly after the incident, the SUV collided and law enforcement officers moved towards the vehicle.
According to authorities, the driver refused to obey commands to leave the vehicle and instead grabbed a seat belt, seemingly attempting to harm the female passenger.
Law enforcement acted swiftly and successfully apprehended the driver, later identified as Foutch-Pratt, who reportedly attempted to resist using force.
As per a report from Henderson, Nevada, Fox affiliate KVVU, the victim informed the police that she and her boyfriend, identified as Foutch-Pratt, had halted in Las Vegas during their road trip and were lodging at The Stratt Hotel & Casino when Foutch-Pratt started behaving “paranoid.”

Following a brief encounter with hotel security, she mentioned they proceeded to buy marijuana. She alleged that during the outing, Foutch-Pratt stated that she “needed to die.” According to reports, the victim was scared by the comment and attempted to seek help. Foutch-Pratt then allegedly grabbed her phone and started assaulting her.
Following the incident, the victim unexpectedly crossed paths with the LVMPD officers. Foutch-Pratt is currently detained without bond at the Clark County Detention Center.
