Judge gives Texas Man 10 year Sentence after Horrific Street Racing Crash which Claimed 3 Lives

A man from North Texas will serve the next ten years in prison for his role in a fatal 2022 street racing accident that killed three people.

After hearing from the victims’ loved ones, 21-year-old Nelson Ramirez took the stand to beg for mercy. Police in River Oaks reported that 19-year-old Ramirez was traveling at a “extremely high rate of speed” when he was involved in a collision with another vehicle.

It had been two years, and now he was standing before a judge, waiting to hear the verdict.

At the outset, witnesses included Cindy Griffin’s and Madison Lake’s and Bishop Kline’s loved ones. After losing her kid, Effie-Sue Bates Kelly testified that she has changed forever.

“It’s devastated us. We’re still trying to cope with it,” said Kelly. “He was my best friend just like all my children are.”

Kelly expressed her disapproval upon learning that Ramirez’s legal team intended to request probation.

“Three people are dead. I mean, they’re dead, in a box,” she said.

The horrific events of the night of the accident were recounted by Cindy Griffin’s father.

“How do you describe how you feel when you look over there and you see a white sheet covering a body? And you see another one over here that’s being worked on,” Griffin said.

To argue for probation rather than prison time, Ramirez testified in his own defense.

“I’m no longer that old Nelson the day of the accident,” he said. “And I believe in my heart that I’m a changed man, and I want to become better.”

The judge determined that Ramirez will serve time in prison after hearing witness accounts and seeing surveillance footage from the incident.

On both counts of manslaughter and highway racing causing serious bodily injury, he received a 10-year prison sentences. All six phrases will be executed at the same time.
