Joe Biden Botches Name of Hero Killed in Buffalo Shooting Aaron Salter Jr.
On Monday, President Joe Biden mispronounced the name of Aaron Salter Jr. as he spoke during the Public Safety Officer Medals of Valor ceremony at the White House.
Salter passed away last Saturday while confronting the Buffalo mass shooting suspect.
“We pay tribute to all law enforcement officers and their families who understand what it takes, what’s at risk, to save and protect all of us,” Biden said. “That includes paying tribute to the Buffalo police officer Aaron Salder — Slater, excuse me — who gave his life trying to save others.”
Salter was a veteran Buffalo Police officer and proudly retired in 2022. He took a job at the local Tops Friendly Market as a security guard after serving in the police department for 30 years.
Salter fired at least one pistol round at the alleged shooter, but the armor that he was wearing prevented the bullet from passing through. The gunman also claimed the lives of 10 more civilians.
Biden apologized when he made the same mistake by mispronouncing Rep. Adriano Espaillat and said he wouldn’t mind if someone unintentionally called him Bidden.
