International Drug Cartel Leader sent to Federal Prison for 15 years in Indiana

Columbia City, IN: The 54-year-old man who has ties to the Sinaloa Cartel will spend the next 15 years in prison on federal drug charges.

Fourteen kilograms of cocaine and two hundred pounds of marijuana were found in a home in Columbia City. This bust led to his arrest and subsequent charges.

Jose Jesus Lopez-Verduzco from Sinaloa, Mexico was given a term after admitting to having drugs and selling them. He will be on controlled release for five years after he gets out of jail.

Court documents say Lopez-Verduzco was in charge of a group that got big amounts of drugs from the Sinaloa Cartel and sold them in Northeast Indiana. A search request was carried out on a home in Columbia City in August 2018. Nine guns, 14 kilograms of cocaine, and 200 pounds of marijuana were taken away.

The authorities have been tracking members of the organization after the arrest.
