Huge Fentanyl Busted in Apartment in Minnesota; 1 Arrested on Drug Charges

Duluth, MN: Officials have seized a significant quantity of fentanyl in a drug bust in Minnesota.

Authorities conducted a search warrant early Monday morning. Authorities report that the individual targeted by the warrant was sought for Parole Violation, Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl, and five counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person.

Authorities executed a warrant at an apartment complex in northwestern Duluth, where members of the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force were present. A kilogram of compressed fentanyl, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, a loaded pistol, and evidence of drug sales were found in the recent raid.

A package containing a kilogram of cocaine was intercepted by investigators in the mail. Following the drug discovery, law enforcement apprehended 43-year-old Diaunte Shields peacefully.

According to the news release, Shields was found with $33,555 in cash, several fake ID’s, and counterfeit documents.

He was taken to the St. Louis County Jail at 6 a.m. on Monday. He is currently being detained without the option for bail.
