Hot-headed man shot 7 People in Washington DC; 2 Dead after the Killing Spree

Washington DC: Two individuals were killed and five others injured in a shooting early Sunday in a historic district of Washington, D.C., and the police have not yet identified or apprehended the offender.

Around three in the morning, gunfire broke out at the intersection of 7th Street NW and P Street NW, around four blocks north of Mt. Vernon Square and seven blocks east of Logan Circle, according to the police.

Shots rang out near the Kennedy Recreation Center, as per the authorities.

Authorities in the nation’s capital continued their search for a man on Sunday after reports indicated he had run away on foot after a fatal shooting.

A Black male, described by the Metropolitan Police Department as having a “average build, wearing light pants, blue shirt,” was being sought by investigators.

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered six adults who had been shot. On the spot, two of the casualties were declared dead.

According to the authorities, a seventh victim arrived at the hospital unaccompanied on Sunday afternoon. The authorities have withheld the victims’ identities until notification to their kin.

While authorities are still trying to piece together what led up to the incident, they have found evidence that “suggests that one or more suspects intentionally discharged a firearm at the victims.”

Police are waiting to notify the families of the two victims before releasing their names.

The police have stated that they are still trying to determine a motive for the shooting. Police have stated that initial investigations indicate that the victims were shot by one or more suspects.
