Homicide Suspect from San Jose Apprehended in Texas, Returned to Bay Area after fleeing to El Salvador
San Jose, CA- Authorities announced on Friday that the individual responsible for a deadly shooting in San Jose in 2022 has been apprehended in Texas and extradited back to the Bay Area after fleeing to El Salvador.
An incident occurred on the afternoon of November 18, 2022 on the 600 block of River Oaks Parkway in North San Jose. Authorities in San Jose have reported a tragic incident involving a man who was discovered with gunshot wounds. Despite receiving immediate medical attention at the scene, the individual was ultimately transported to a hospital where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
After conducting their investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Carlos Hernandez Monroy, who is 30 years old. According to authorities, Hernandez Monroy had fled to El Salvador following the shooting incident.
McAllen, Texas arrest made by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers on May 27. On Monday, he was returned to San Jose and taken into custody at the Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges of murder.
Authorities are currently investigating the motive and circumstances behind the tragic shooting incident. The identity of the victim remains unknown.
