High-Speed Rail Line Approved, LA to Las Vegas Just 3 Hours Apart

Las Vegas, Nevada: The Biden administration has allocated $3 billion to a high-speed rail project that will connect Los Angeles with Las Vegas. A private passenger rail operator, Brightline, will run the route.
The official announcement is reportedly scheduled for Friday. Biden himself will announce the project in Las Vegas.

The new line will connect Rancho Cucamonga to a new station in Las Vegas. The time duration for a one-way trip would be three hours.

Trains will be carrying roughly 500 passengers every 45 minutes. The high-speed rail line will allow the trains to reach speeds up to 180 miles per hour, according to Brightline.
The project will ease the pressure on I-15, reducing 3 million cars from the highway. This move will greatly impact the carbon emissions and will create more than 35,000 union jobs. Approximately 400,000 tonnes of carbon emissions will be reduced annually after the project is open to the public.

The project is anticipated to be completed by the 2028 Summer Olympics. The Olympics will be held in LA. This route will prove beneficial both to the residents of California and residents of other states as well.

“We’re honored and humbled in the confidence President Biden, Secretary Buttigieg, Senator Rosen, and so many others have placed in Brightline’s vision to bring true high-speed rail to America. This is a historic moment that will serve as a foundation for a new industry and a remarkable project that will serve as the blueprint for how we can repeat this model throughout the country. We’re ready to get to work to bring our vision of America-made, American-built, world-class, state-of-the-art high-speed train travel to America.” This is the official statement released by Brightline West.

The construction of the high-speed rail line is expected to be completed in 2027.
