High School Teacher Arrested After 150 MPH Speed Chase on I-40 in North Carolina
Charlotte, NC: A high-speed pursuit on Interstate 40 concluded with the apprehension of a high school math teacher.
A driver in North Carolina was caught speeding at an incredibly high rate on the interstate, according to the State Highway Patrol.
The pursuit eventually exited the interstate and continued on NC-242, according to troopers. According to reports, McDougald allegedly declined to stop, disregarded a stop sign, and drove in a reckless manner by crossing over the center line.
He was finally apprehended and faced numerous charges in connection with the pursuit. His 2017 Dodge Charger was confiscated due to the state’s “Run and You’re Done” law.
McDougald’s roles at Triton High School include being a mathematics teacher, junior varsity men’s basketball coach, and assistant football coach, as stated on the school’s website. In addition, he was honored as Triton’s 2024 Beginning Teacher of the Year.
