Former Longview Doctor Pleads Guilty to Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child

On a charge of aggravated sexual abuse of a minor, a former Longview physician entered a guilty plea.

According to court documents, Matt Elza Hipke, 62, pled guilty before Judge Scott Novy of the 188th District Court on Monday. Later this month, a sentencing hearing is scheduled.

In 2022, Hipke was charged with three counts: indecency with a minor sexual contact, aggravated sexual assault of a child, and continuous sexual abuse of a kid under the age of 14. According to the police, Hipke’s victims were his former patients.

In August 2020, Hipke was first taken into custody. His medical license is still suspended by the Texas Medical Board, and his clinic, Adolescent Care Team, has since dissolved.

According to authorities, he fondled the genitalia of kid patients several times between 2018 and 2020, as part of a pattern of sexual assault, according to charges against him.
