Florida Teen Ordered Weapons Online and Walked 6 Miles to Stab 15-year-old Hosting Sleepover: Victim Dead after Vicious Stabbing

A teenage boy has been taken into custody following a tragic incident where he fatally stabbed another teen and injured an adult during an unexpected attack at a sleepover, as reported by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.

An incident took place at a residence in Wildwood shortly after 10 p.m. on Saturday. Officials reported that deputies responded to a residence where they discovered a 15-year-old boy and an adult who had both sustained stab wounds.

According to investigators, the 15-year-old was having a sleepover when Alexander Warren Hernandez, 16, unexpectedly showed up and loudly knocked on the door.

According to authorities, the suspect forcefully entered the residence and attacked the victim, who has been identified as Connor Michael Gill. Afterward, he proceeded to intimidate another individual before attacking an adult who had approached to investigate the disturbance.

Hernandez fled on foot and was apprehended shortly after with the help of the sheriff’s office helicopter. Authorities confirmed that he was still in possession of the weapons used in the crime.

Both individuals who were stabbed were immediately transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital to receive additional medical care. Gill was later pronounced deceased, while the adult victim continued to receive medical treatment for their injuries.

Hernandez has been taken into custody and is facing serious charges including premeditated first-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and armed burglary.

Authorities confirmed that both Gill and Hernandez had chosen to withdraw from Sumter County Schools and were now receiving homeschooling.

At a press conference held on Sunday, Sumter County Undersheriff Pat Breeden revealed that the incident was a deliberate and focused assault.

“According to Alexander’s statement to detectives, he had purchased the two weapons online last Thursday.” The weapons were delivered on Saturday. According to Breeden, he unpacked the weapons, casually played with them for a while, and then embarked on a nearly six-mile journey to the victim’s residence.

Authorities have indicated that Hernandez may face further charges.

The motive for the attack is still under investigation, according to Breeden.
