Firing At Trader Joe’s in San Francisco; No Injury Reported

San Francisco, CA: On Friday, the San Francisco Police Department reported that a man had discharged a firearm at a Trader Joe’s near Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco.

Officer Paulina Henderson stated that police were called to the scene of a shooting at Bay and Powell streets at 1:08 p.m. Henderson mentioned that a witness informed the authorities about an adult man who took out a firearm and shot once after stealing items from the store.

Fortunately, there were no injuries, according to Henderson. It remains uncertain who the man targeted with the gunshot, if the shot was discharged inside the store, or which items the suspect took. Henderson mentioned that no arrests have been made yet, and officers are currently in the area carrying out an investigation.

Images from Friday depict multiple officers and police vehicles outside Trader Joe’s, with the store entrance blocked off by police tape. According to a tweet from a KRON 4 reporter, a sign in the store’s window indicated it would be closed for the remainder of the day.

Henderson mentioned that the investigation is still ongoing. If anyone has details about the shooting, please contact the San Francisco Police Department tip line at 415-575-4444.
