Fire Broke Out in an Apartment On Christmas Evening in DC; No Injuries Reported
Washington DC: On Christmas evening, a kitchen fire in Southeast, D.C., broke out, forcing several individuals to evacuate. The DC Fire Department and emergency responders were informed quickly.
The location of the fire was at the 3400 block of Stanton Road, Southeast DC.
When DC Fire and EMS arrived at the scene of the fire, they reported that the third-floor apartment’s kitchen had caught fire.
The fire was extinguished not long after authorities showed up there. No injuries were reported after the fire was put out.
There were three kids and two adults who had to be moved. The Red Cross of the National Capital and Greater Chesapeake Region was alerted to assist, as was the DC Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services.
The investigation into the fire’s cause is still ongoing. It seems that the fire broke out when the family was preparing for the Christmas dinner.
