Elder Woman got Trapped under Tractor in Kansas; Authorities Recovered Dead Body after Friend Made Frantic 911 Calls
Topeka, KS: Tragedy struck in southwest Shawnee County as a woman lost her life in a devastating accident involving a tractor on Wednesday morning.
Authorities responded to a tragic incident in the 3200 block of S.W. 93rd this morning. Unfortunately, the injured individual was pronounced deceased at the scene, as confirmed by Sheriff Brian Hill’s office on their Facebook page.
The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the woman who tragically lost her life in an incident involving a UTV on Wednesday morning.
According to a statement from Abigail Christian of the sheriff’s office, deputies were alerted to an incident on June 12 at around 10 a.m. in the 3200 block of SW 93rd Street. A call was made about an individual who was trapped under a UTV as reported by KSNT News.
Deputies arrived at the scene to find an individual with severe injuries, sadly, they were pronounced deceased. The sheriff’s office has confirmed the identity of the deceased as Rita M. Cline, 73, of Topeka.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Cline was hit by and trapped under a UTV driven by a friend. Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the location after receiving a distress call. After the UTV was taken away, CPR was performed until AMR arrived at the scene of the incident.
The circumstances involved are currently being investigated.
