Eight Individuals Arrested by Milpitas Police in Operation Targeting Great Mall Retail Theft
Milpitas, CA: Eight people were arrested in connection with theft at the Great Mall as part of a crackdown on retail crime by the Milpitas Police Department.
The most recent X post from the department states that the arrests happened yesterday as part of an Organized Retail Crime Operation and that they are currently responding quickly to a theft report.
The five individuals apprehended are facing a variety of offenses, including retail theft, outstanding warrants, and a probation violation. The sting was carefully planned by cops at the famous shopping location.

Concurrent with this operation, three additional defendants were apprehended for charges including stealing when mall authorities stepped in.
This was emphasized by the Milpitas Police Department, who said, “If you see something, say something.”
All three establishments’ loss prevention and mall security teams worked together to pull off this successful sweep. The participation of the Great Mall Security team demonstrates the efficacy of public-private partnerships in combating retail crime.
