Miami Standard (Solano County, CA) – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Solano Area has announced plans to conduct a driving under the influence (DUI) and sobriety checkpoint within Solano County on Friday night.
According to CHP officials, the checkpoint will begin at approximately 7 p.m. on Friday and continue until 1 a.m. on Saturday. However, the exact location has not yet been disclosed. Authorities stated that, in accordance with a California Supreme Court ruling, they will release the checkpoint location two hours before the operation begins.
The checkpoint is part of an ongoing effort to enhance roadway safety by targeting areas with a high likelihood of intoxicated or unlicensed drivers.

“A sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint is a proven effective tool for achieving this goal and is designed to augment existing patrol operations,” CHP Solano Area said in a statement.
The initiative is funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Drivers are urged to remain vigilant and plan for alternate transportation if they intend to consume alcohol.
