Dozens of Car Crashed on I-15 in Hesperia; Extreme Weather Conditions Responsible: CHP

Hesperia, CA: Many vehicles collided, and several lost control on I-15 owing to weather conditions in Hesperia. This was mainly due to the flooding-like conditions in the area.

On Monday, the California Highway Patrol received calls informing dozens of crashes caused by extreme weather conditions. One of these crashes closed parts of Interstate 15 in Hesperia because of the risk of flooding.

Crews have reported several accidents that began around 6 a.m. Monday as the heavy rain falls. On Monday night, drivers going from the 10 freeway up to the high desert on Interstate 15 saw several cars flipped over.

At 12:54 p.m., a collision involving a single car happened on southbound I-15, about a mile after the Cleghorn Road exit.

As per CHP; the white Infiniti Q series sedan’s driver was going too fast on wet pavement, lost control, and hit the center line. The number of victims or what caused the crash are unknown.

Crews said that the conditions of the roads today led to all the accidents. They also said that drivers should slow down on wet freeways. There were no reports of major injuries in any of the events.
