Dead and Rotten Newborn found Wrapped in Plastic Bags in Mother’s Car in Kentucky: Mother Arrested after Horrific Discovery by Authorities

A Kentucky mother has been taken into custody following allegations that her newborn baby was discovered deceased in a garbage bag within the trunk of her vehicle.
According to an arrest report filed in Jefferson County Circuit Court, officers responded to a Louisville, Ky., home on Saturday, July 6. The report stated that they were alerted to a baby who was found in a bag with possible blood on it, hidden in a closet.
Officers interviewed 22-year-old Daira Meijia Aguilar at the scene, where she stated that she had given birth to the baby “on or about July 2,” according to the arrest report. According to the report, she reportedly informed investigators that she proceeded to carefully wrap the newborn in a blanket and then placed the baby in a trash bag before stowing it away in the closet.
According to the report, officers discovered the baby in the trunk of a car that Aguilar claimed as her own the following day.
According to the report from Louisville police, the child was observed to be a full-term newborn in the early stages of decomposition. No information about the cause of death was included in the arrest report.
Aguilar has been arrested on a charge of abuse of a corpse, as stated in the report reviewed by PEOPLE. It remains uncertain whether she has entered a plea or hired legal representation to speak on her behalf.
