Cicero Resident Arrested for Armed Robbery on Chicago Transit Authority Train
On a Chicago Transit Authority train, a guy from Cook County was taken into custody this week on suspicion of robbing a woman.
Cicero resident Geronimo Espinoso, 32 years old, is being charged with one count of armed robbery with a deadly weapon, which is a felony, and one count of criminal trespass to state land, which is a misdemeanor, according to the Chicago Police Department.
According to the police, Espinoso was allegedly equipped with a hazardous weapon when he robbed a woman who was on a train in the 700 block of South Cicero on Tuesday morning. The victim was 29 years old.
It was several hours later when he was taken into custody after being apprehended.
The hearing with regard to his detention was planned for Wednesday.
