A woman was apprehended after a high-speed chase that spanned Santa Monica and Brentwood, culminating in a collision with several vehicles on the 405 Freeway.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department’s post on X, the events unfolded in the early hours of the morning. A patrol vehicle, responding to a disturbance call, was struck by a van driven by a woman.

A driver fled the scene, leading to a police pursuit of a suspect involved in an assault with a deadly weapon at 4:49 a.m.

An aerial view captured the early morning pursuit on Santa Monica Boulevard, as multiple patrol units trailed the driver.

A video captured the driver’s reckless actions as they tried to collide with the patrol vehicles, followed by an intense moment when they leaned out of the van’s window and shouted at the officers.

During the incident, the driver reversed course and aggressively pursued one of the patrol vehicles, seemingly with the intention of causing a collision.

This is absolutely crazy. She’s pursuing a black and white target. There are a few other cars following behind her… Take a look at this. “This is absolutely insane,” exclaimed Sky5 reporter Mike Case.

Law enforcement made multiple attempts to perform pit maneuvers on the northbound 405 Freeway, but their efforts proved to be unsuccessful.

They demonstrated remarkable self-control. According to Chris Schauble, they likely had the legal right to use lethal force.

The driver proceeded to drive in the opposite direction on the freeway and collided head-on with another vehicle, yet the van continued its relentless journey. She persisted and accelerated rapidly, colliding forcefully with several stationary vehicles on the freeway.

A collision took place near Sunset Boulevard in the Brentwood area, resulting in significant damage to one vehicle and causing the van to become disabled.

A woman was apprehended by officers after she climbed on top of a big rig and sat on the hood, causing quite a scene. According to law enforcement experts interviewed by KNX News Radio, it was suggested that she exhibited signs of being under the influence of drugs.

A woman, covered in blood, was later placed into an ambulance and transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

Two officers who were injured are now in stable condition after being transported to a hospital. All of the drivers involved in the collision were fortunate enough to escape serious injuries.

Commuters on L.A.’s West Side faced significant delays as the northbound 405 remained closed for several hours due to an ongoing investigation.

The SigAlert was lifted as lanes reopened shortly before 9:45 a.m.
