Burbank Resident Gets 10-Year Federal Prison Sentence For Unlawful Sale Of Ghost Guns And Meth Sale in Los Angeles Hookah Bar

Los Angeles, CA: A downtown Los Angeles hookah lounge owner has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for engaging in illegal firearm sales, which included the distribution of ghost guns. Additionally, the individual was found guilty of drug possession with intent to sell.

Hovik Dagesian, 42, from Burbank, admitted guilt in September to federal charges of conducting firearms transactions without a license and possessing at least 50 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, as stated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.  

Dagesian has been found guilty of selling 11 firearms, which included an AR-15-style short-barreled rifle without a serial number. These illegal transactions took place on four separate occasions from October 2020 to January 2021.

The buyer purchased firearms and methamphetamine from Dagesian, totaling $34,250. According to court documents, it is stated that Dagesian does not possess a federal firearms license and has no registered firearms.

The papers also mention that he has sold various firearms, including AR-15-style ghost guns, a semiautomatic shotgun, a Tec-DC9 pistol, and a vintage Tommy gun. All of the illegal firearms sales took place at Dagesian’s establishment, DTLA Hookah Lounge.

According to documents filed in Los Angeles federal court, law enforcement personnel seized over a dozen firearms from his business during the execution of a search warrant.
