Boston police have apprehended a Roxbury man in possession of Fentanyl and Crack Cocaine
Boston, MA: Boston police reported a significant drug trafficking bust in an effort to clean up the streets of Roxbury.
Rafael Claudio, 47, from Roxbury, was taken into custody for alleged involvement in fentanyl and crack cocaine trafficking during a patrol focused on enhancing the community’s well-being.
While surveying the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard, officers witnessed a potential drug deal taking place.
As law enforcement closed in, the group scattered and dropped items. Officers successfully apprehended Claudio during this moment.
During their investigation, law enforcement found several plastic bags suspected of holding illegal substances, including one bag containing multiple smaller bags, according to the Boston Police Department.
After testing, it was confirmed that the seized drugs contained 31 grams of fentanyl, a potent synthetic opioid, and an unknown quantity of crack cocaine.
Claudio is now confronted with serious charges of trafficking in class A drugs and possession with the intent to distribute class B substances.
