Border Patrol Agents Arrested Many Illegal Migrants With History of Serious Crimes in Home Country at El Paso Border in Texas

El Paso, TX: The U.S. Border Patrol in Texas apprehended several illegal immigrants with criminal histories, including some linked to Mexican drug gangs and others convicted of child sexual abuse.

Border Patrol agents apprehended over a dozen migrants who entered the U.S. unlawfully through the El Paso Sector, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Background checks revealed that individuals arrested included sex criminals, child predators, and drug smugglers.

Additional offenses were unlawful firearm possession, assault, domestic abuse, and burglary. Some individuals were discovered to be affiliated with gangs or Mexican drug cartels such as La Linea, Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generación, Artistas Asesinios, Cartel de Los Soles, and MS-13.

CBP reported that many of the apprehended migrants are linked to killings, kidnappings, extortion, and other criminal operations in Central America.

They were apprehensive following the arrest of an undocumented immigrant in connection with the killing of Augusta University student, Laken Riley. UGA police discovered the 22-year-old’s body with apparent injuries in a wooded area behind Lake Herrick on Thursday afternoon.

Jose Ibarra, a 26-year-old Venezuelan citizen, entered El Paso, Texas illegally in September 2022 and was subsequently granted parole in the U.S.
