Blind Son Killed by Mother who Stuffed His Dead Body in Freezer; Sentenced in Michigan for Heinous Killing that Devastated Whole Family

Detroit, MI- A 33-year-old woman in Michigan has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term for the horrific crime of torturing and killing her 3-year-old son, who was blind.

She then callously concealed his body in a basement freezer. Azuradee France has been sentenced to 35 to 60 years in a state correctional facility for the 2022 slaying of Chayse Allen, according to authorities.

France recently admitted to being responsible for her son’s tragic demise, pleading guilty to one count of second-degree murder. Additionally, Greene acknowledged her for the 767 days she had already served.

During Monday’s hearing, France remained silent, as reported by Detroit Fox affiliate WJBK. According to reports, she remained silent in the courtroom and covered her face when Green announced her sentence.

France was arrested in June 2022 and faced a range of serious charges, such as felony murder, child abuse, torture, and concealing the death of an individual. After admitting to the crime, the defendant had the other charges against her dismissed.

In a recent incident, officers from the Detroit Police Department promptly responded to a welfare check request concerning a young child at a residence in the 12760 block of Monte Vista. The incident occurred on June 24, 2022, around 12:45 p.m.

Police discovered the body of a deceased child, later identified as Chayse, inside a freezer in the basement of the home. France was apprehended and transferred to the Wayne County Jail.

Detroit Police Chief James E. White expressed his deep concern over the distressing discovery made inside France’s home, emphasizing the disturbing nature of what was found.

“The other children, one can only imagine the hardships and suffering they experienced while residing in that residence,” stated the police chief during that period. “Indeed, a tragic discovery was made as authorities found the remains of a child in a freezer.”

According to White, during their initial conversation with France, the officers sensed that something was amiss in the way she was communicating and her repeated attempts to avoid police and Child Protective Services, as if nothing was happening. According to him, the officers had a sense that something was amiss, prompting them to search the residence and uncover Chayse’s remains.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy was taken aback by the disturbing nature of the case.

“The alleged facts in this case have surprised even the most cynical individuals,” Worthy stated after France’s arrest. “The safety of our children remains a concern, as they face potential harm not only from gun violence but also from the presence of an alleged murderer within their own home.”

During a police interview, France admitted to becoming increasingly frustrated with Chayse one night in late March 2022. As a result, she resorted to using physical force, whipping the boy with a belt and delivering at least one kick to his chest. Tragedy struck when the caregiver discovered the lifeless toddler the next morning.

According to a report from The Detroit News, France expressed her frustration to a homicide detective regarding the challenges of caring for a blind child with special needs without any assistance. According to her, Chayse was expected to be staying with her father, who had previously taken care of her children.

“He was quite unique,” France allegedly informed the police, when discussing Chayse. “My dad unexpectedly returned him to me.”

In addition, it was reported that France expressed her reluctance to call 911 due to concerns that the police might remove her other children. According to reports, she allegedly assured the two children who discovered Chayse’s body that she would handle the situation. She then placed him in a bag and brought him down to the basement freezer.
